Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Brighid Williams received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri - St. Louis School of Optometry, graduating with honors and receiving several awards in primary care and contact lens fitting. Her externship training included rotations in specialty contact lens fitting and pediatrics. Dr. Williams is originally from Lawrence, Kansas. She moved to Orlando after graduation, where she worked in a large contact lens practice prior to opening Eola Eyes with Dr. Giedd. Along with caring for our Eola Eyes patients, Dr. Williams is an investigator for clinical research trials for contact lens and lens care companies.

Dr. Williams is actively involved in the Orlando Main Street District of Mills 50 and served on the Mills 50 board. She was a longtime member of the Rotary Club of College Park, where she served on the board and as chair of their annual fundraising event, The Taste of College Park. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and the Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians.

Dr. Williams lives in College Park with her husband, Troy, and their sons, Miles (born 2008) and Evan (born 2013). She enjoys hiking, kayaking and spending time with her family.


Dr. Kerry Giedd

Dr. Kerry Giedd graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2000, where she received her Master of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees. While in school, she received several awards for her clinical performance in the area of contact lenses and for her leadership roles. She is originally from the Cleveland, Ohio area and moved to Central Florida with her husband after completing optometry school. She founded Eola Eyes in 2003 along with Dr. Williams.

Dr. Giedd is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, serving this organization in many roles over the years and currently as a Board Member of the American Academy of Optometry Foundation. Locally, she is active in Florida Executive Women, having served as the club’s President in 2012, and she is a longtime Board Member of the Lions Club's Project Right to Sight. She was honored to be recognized by the Small Business Administration as the 2012 Women in Business Champion of the Year for the state of Florida. In addition to caring for our Eola Eyes patients, Dr. Giedd serves as a consultant to vision care companies and as a clinical investigator for contact lens industry research. She speaks nationally to fellow optometrists about contact lenses and lens care. She has been published in contact lens industry trade journals and she is a member of the editorial board of the national publication Primary Care Optometry News. She is passionate about serving her community and is involved in a number of outreach projects to provide vision care to those in need, volunteering with local nonprofits and leading mission teams in the Dominican Republic.  

Dr. Kerry Giedd and her husband, Dr. Brad Giedd, who is also an optometrist, live in Maitland and have three children, Lindsey (born 2003), Braden (born 2005), and Matthew (born 2007). When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family--especially at the beach or hiking in a National Park--and cheering on The OSU Buckeyes.


Dr. Nicole Beedle

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Nicole Beedle is originally from Jacksonville, Florida. Before her education in Chicago, Illinois, she obtained a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University in 1993. In 1998, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry. During her training, she received several awards for clinical performance and leadership. After completing her doctoral work, she continued her education with a Primary Care Residency at the Illinois Eye Institute.

Dr. Beedle began practice in 2000 and moved to Orlando permanently in 2002. After working in Orlando for 7 years and establishing the focus of her practice in specialty contact lenses, she joined Eola Eyes in 2009. Along with caring for our Eola Eyes patients, Dr. Beedle is an investigator for clinical research trials for contact lens and lens care companies.

Dr. Beedle has been involved with the Doctor Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Lighthouse of Central Florida, an organization which promotes the independence of people with sight impairment where she served on the Board of Directors for three years. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians.

Dr. Beedle lives with her husband, Tige Stalker, in the Lake Formosa neighborhood. She is passionate about her neighborhood and her community while being a strong advocate of local and independent businesses. She is an avid reader, enthusiastic traveler and dedicated runner.


Dr. David C. Rice

Doctor of Optometry

Dr. David C. Rice received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to that, he graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science. Dr. Rice has been an Orlando resident since early childhood and attended Howard Middle School and Boone and Colonial High Schools. Dr. Rice joined the Eola Eyes optometric physician team in August 2014. Previously, he practiced at Myoptics in Downtown Orlando for twenty years. He is excited to have begun a new chapter in his professional career at Eola Eyes and to be able to offer his patients more modern eye care technology and an expanded selection of high quality eyewear at his new practice home.    

While in optometry school, Dr. Rice did several externship rotations in large ophthalmological practices and referral centers. He was most interested in primary care and contact lenses. He has traveled to Guatemala and Costa Rica to provide eye care to unserved rural areas. Dr. Rice also provided volunteer eye care services for over ten years at the Orange County Health Department and Orange Blossom Family Health Center in Orlando.

Dr. Rice has resided in the Delaney Park neighborhood of Orlando for over twenty-five years. He is very supportive of local, independent businesses and restaurants. His other interests include physical fitness, skiing, food, and international travel.
